Frances Ramsden, a model and daughter of musician Norman Webster Morison and his wife Frances Louise Ramsden, was romantically linked with filmmaker Preston Sturges, who surprisingly cast her as co-star in Harold Lloyd's comeback comedy, The Sin of Harold Diddlebock, in 1947. Despite her lack of acting experience, Sturges believed in her potential and gave her a chance to shine alongside Lloyd.
However, the film received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics and audiences alike, with The New York Times stating that it "ran an erratic course during which moments of wonderfully funny nonsense are overshadowed by stretches of painfully dull writing and imagery." This lackluster reception marked the end of Lloyd's acting career, and Frances Ramsden subsequently left the screen, opting to focus on her hobbies of golf, reading, and piano playing, which she was reportedly quite skilled at.
Frances Ramsden's personal life was also marked by significant changes, as she later married Egyptian millionaire Adel Sabit, a cousin of King Farouk. The couple resided in Cairo, but were forced to leave due to Sabit's connections to the old regime. They then spent time in Germany and other parts of Europe, before ultimately settling in California.
Despite her experiences, Frances Ramsden eventually divorced Sabit in 1975 and returned to her native California, where she spent the remainder of her life.
