Florian Stetter was born on August 2, 1977, in the vibrant city of Munich, Germany. He spent his early years in Regensburg until the age of 18, before embarking on a journey to pursue his passion for acting. In 1998, Stetter enrolled at the prestigious Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, where he honed his craft and laid the foundation for a successful career in the performing arts.
After completing his training, Stetter began working on various stages across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, including the esteemed Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zürich, and the renowned Salzburg Festival. His early work caught the attention of acclaimed directors, and he soon made his film debut in 1997 as David in Philip Gröning's "Lamour" (Locarno 2000),a performance that earned him the Max Ophüls Prize.
Throughout his career, Stetter has taken on a wide range of roles in both film and television productions. He has appeared in numerous critically acclaimed projects, including Dominik Graf's Grimme Prize-winning television film "Die Freunde der Freunde" and Marc Rothemund's Oscar-nominated "Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage". Stetter has also starred as Reinhold Messner in "Nanga Parbat" directed by Joseph Vilsmaier and as Friedrich Schiller in the internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning production "Beloved Sisters" directed by Dominik Graf.
In 2016, Stetter received a nomination for an International Emmy for his performance in "Naked Among Wolves". His recent work includes starring alongside Petra Schmidt-Schaller in the highly acclaimed mini-series "Ein Schritt zum Abgrund", the German remake of the BBC award-winning show "Doctor Foster", and the miniseries "Sexuell Verfügbar" directed by Ulrike Koffler, alongside Laura Tonke. He also appeared in the international feature film "Maysoon" directed by Nancy Biniadaki, taking on one of the leading roles.
Today, Stetter resides in Berlin with his two children, and his dedication to his craft continues to earn him recognition and accolades within the industry.
