Florence Eldridge was a talented character actress who had a long and illustrious career in both stage and screen. Born in Brooklyn, she joined the Theatre Guild immediately after graduating from high school and began her acting career at the age of seventeen as a chorine in the play "Rock-a-Bye Baby" in 1918.
