Person Biography:
Firoz Khan was born on September 25, 1935, in Bangalore, to a Pathan father, Sadiq, and an Iranian mother, Fatima. He has three brothers, Abbas alias Sanjay, Akbar, and Sameer. Sanjay and Akbar are actors, while Sameer is a filmmaker and assists at their family's Golden Palms Spa in Bangalore.
Firoz began his acting career in 1960 after completing his education at a Bangalore-based English medium school. He initially started as a hero in the film "Didi," then transitioned to villain roles, and eventually made a comeback as a hero again.
Some of his notable movies include "Oonche Log," "Main Wohi Hoon," "Aag," "Mela," "Upasna," "Apradh," and "Dayavan." He received an award for his role in "Aadmi Aur Insaan." Firoz passed away on April 27, 2009, due to cancer at his Bangalore farmhouse.
He was an avid fan of sports car racing and incorporated this passion into his movies "Apradh" and "Janasheen." Firoz preferred to use the character names Rajesh or Rakesh. He was a devout follower of Bhagwan Shri Sai Baba and always wore a gold ring on his finger, keeping a picture of Sai Baba close to him.
Firoz married Sundari in 1965, and they had two children, Laila and Fardeen. Despite objections from an Islamic Moulvi, Feroz and Sanjay allowed their children to marry outside their faith. Laila married Rajpal, while Fardeen married Natasha Madhwani, the daughter of Mayur and former Bollywood star Mumtaz. Firoz and Sundari divorced in 1985.
Firoz avoided controversy, although he did face a ban from the conservative Pakistani government. Apart from acting, he has also edited, produced, written, and directed movies. His latest project, "Kurbani," is currently in production.
