Felipe was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and his affinity for the performing arts began to take shape at a young age. He attended a music school as a child, which helped him develop a keen ear for music. By the time he was 14, Felipe had taught himself how to play the guitar and was already composing his own music. He went on to perform as the lead vocalist in various bands with his friends and even held the position of Music Director at his high school's arts festival.
Felipe's passion for the performing arts led him to enroll in university, where he took theatre classes as part of his extracurricular activities. However, he eventually decided to pursue a full-time career in acting. At the age of 21, he attended the Vancouver Film School's Full Time Acting for Film and TV program, where he graduated with honors. He then went on to take the Film Production Full Time Program at the same school, also graduating with honors.
After completing his education, Felipe moved back to Mexico in late 2005. In 2006, he traveled to New York City to audition for the Stella Adler Studio of Acting's 2.5 year conservatory program. Although he was accepted, he was advised to start working rather than studying again, and so he did. Felipe returned to Monterrey, where he met the renowned Mexican actress Patricia Reyes Spindola at a play he was participating in. She advised him to move to Mexico City, and after just two weeks, she introduced him to the most important casting directors in town. This led to Felipe's first audition, which he landed for the movie "Species 4".
Since then, Felipe has worked on a variety of projects, including commercials and small roles in feature films. One of his notable roles was in the movie "Rudo y Cursi", starred by Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, and directed by Carlos Cuaron in 2007. However, it wasn't until early 2008 that he landed his first major role in a movie directed by Gerardo Tort called "Viaje Redondo" ("Round Trip"),which won the Best Movie Award at the Guadalajara International Film Festival in 2009. Felipe played the role of Flavio in this film.
In 2009, Felipe secured a part in the Fox TV series "Persons Unknown", which was released in the United States in 2010. He played the role of Ricky Morton in this series. In 2011, Felipe landed a leading role in the Discovery Channel TV series "Killer Instinct", playing the role of a Mexican serial killer known as "The Sadist".
