Massa was born on July 10, 1972, in the small city of Formosa, located in the northern part of Argentina. He was raised in a middle-class family and later moved to Buenos Aires in 1990 to pursue his passion for filmmaking.
Massa enrolled in the IDAC Instituto de Arte Cinematografico, where he honed his skills and created his first short film, Malevo, at the tender age of 17. The film received the award for Best First Short Film at the IDAC.
As he continued his studies, Massa began working as a second assistant director in the film industry. He simultaneously attended the IDAC, further developing his craft.
In 1992, Massa created La terraza, a 30-minute 16mm action film that opened doors to the world of Advertising TV spots Production. He went on to work on several projects, including Veritas, Panavox, Great films themes, Dauhori, Zanella, Yamaha, Camod, and Puma.
Massa's feature film debut, Más allá del límite (1994),won the Best First Film Feature award at the 2º Luias Sandrini Film Festival in December 1994. He then moved to New York to attend advanced directing workshops at NYU and NYFA in 1995.
In 1997, Massa created "The Last Duel," a 35-minute Tango Drama, as a thesis project for NYFA. Cacería (2001),his new feature film, filmed in Argentina, has already received awards for Best Editing and Best Young Performance at a local festival. The film is scheduled to be released on April 4, 2002, in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.
In July 2002, Massa began pre-production on Día de los muertos (2002),a horror film set in Argentina. He is also working on two projects in the United States, "Tango Stories" and "Big Joe," with release dates set for the end of 2002 and 2003, respectively.
