Biography

Ezio Greggio is a renowned Italian television show host, actor, director, producer, and screenwriter, with a career spanning over 40 years. Born on April 7, 1954, in Cossato, Italy, he has made a significant impact in the Italian television and film industry.

Greggio's television career began in 1978 with the show "La Sberla" on RaiUno. He then became one of the protagonists of "Tutto Compreso" on RaiDue in 1981. His first major debut in Italian television came in 1983 with the first edition of the famous "Drive In" on Italia Uno, which earned him 26 Telegatti Awards over the years.

In 1988, Greggio co-hosted the first episode of "Striscia La Notizia" with Gianfranco D'Angelo, a satirical news television show that he has become the face of and ambassador for over 32 years. He has won numerous awards for his work on the show, including a Platinum Telegatto Award for the 2007/2008 season and 31 TV Oscar Awards.

As an actor, Greggio has appeared in over 30 films and TV movies, working with renowned directors such as Carlo Vanzina, Castellano, Pipolo, Neri Parenti, Pupi Avati, Mel Brooks, and Nick Hamm. In 2008, he starred in Pupi Avati's "Il Papà Di Giovanna," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and received critical acclaim.

Greggio has also directed four films, including "Box Office 3D," the first Italian 3D movie, which premiered at the 68th Venice Film Festival. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Ischial Global Film Festival Legend Award in 2015 and 2018, and the Troisi Prize in 2016 and 2019.

In addition to his work in television and film, Greggio is the President and presenter of the Monte Carlo Comedy Film Festival, which is dedicated to comedy and has helped to launch the careers of many young directors and actors. He has also written five successful books, all edited by Mondadori, and has founded the Ezio Greggio's Association for Premature Babies, which has donated equipment to neonatal centers in over 70 hospitals in Italy, saving over 15,000 babies' lives.

Greggio has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the title of "Neonatologist ad Honorem" in Pavia, the Friend Of Children award in Rome, and the Burgio Prize at the XXI Congress of the Italian Society of Pediatrics. He was also the most voted in his constituency in the elections called by the Italian State in foreign cities for the Presidency of the Principality of Monaco of Com.It.Es.
