Eugene's earliest forays into television were as a juvenile actor on PBS Kids' esteemed Reading Rainbow program. He made his mark on the small screen by appearing in a live broadcast of Puccini's iconic opera "La Boheme" at the illustrious Lincoln Center, an undertaking that ultimately garnered an Emmy award. Furthermore, he had the privilege of performing in two additional operas, "Turandot" and "Carmina Burana".
Eugene's theatrical pursuits took him to the off-Broadway scene in New York City, where he collaborated with esteemed companies such as Vampire Cowboys and the Ma-Yi Theatre. He also honed his skills with various sketch and improv groups, including Good Cop Great Cop and the Upright Citizen's Brigade. As a testament to his talent, Eugene was handpicked for the ABC-Disney Diversity Talent Showcase.
