Ethan Stiefel, a native of Pennsylvania, embarked on his dance training journey at the tender age of eight in Madison, Wisconsin. For two formative years, he honed his craft under the guidance of esteemed instructors Ted Kivitt and Paul Sutherland at the Milwaukee Ballet School. Additionally, he had the privilege of studying with the renowned Marcia Dale Weary at the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet before making the move to New York to further his education at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre's School of Classical Ballet and the School of American Ballet on full scholarship. At the remarkable age of 16, Stiefel took his first professional steps, joining the esteemed corps de ballet of the New York City Ballet. In 1992, he took a brief leave of absence to perform with the renowned Zurich Ballet. Returning to the New York City Ballet one year later, he was promoted to the esteemed position of Soloist, and in 1995, he was further elevated to the role of Principal Dancer.
