Esther Canata is a renowned international singer/songwriter, recording artist, and actress of stage and screen, boasting an impressive range of accomplishments in the entertainment industry.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Esther began her journey in the performing arts at the tender age of five, singing in church and continuing to hone her skills throughout her childhood by studying voice, dance, and acting. She further developed her talents by attending the esteemed Somerset County Vocational/Technical gifted and talented program in high school, as well as serving as an apprentice actor to the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival.
Esther's theatrical training continued as she became a second-year alumnus of the prestigious William Esper Drama School in New York City, where she had the opportunity to study under the guidance of Vicki Hart and Bill Esper. She also attended Bill Esper's 3rd year MasterClass by invitation only, as well as a Shakespeare Intensive.
As an indie-film actress, Esther has starred in a number of notable roles, including American Mummy, Hired Gun, Metro, Slammed, and Love, Rome, opposite renowned actors such as Michael Madsen and Drea De Matteo.
On stage, Esther has made a name for herself with her performances in productions such as Othello and Cowboy Mouth at the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, Mark Weiser's rock opera The Cure at the infamous NYC Club Limelight, and the award-winning Disassembly by Steve Yockey at Theatre of Note in Hollywood. She has also had the opportunity to appear in various works at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, alongside notable actors such as Peter Dinklage, David Harbour, and Drea De Matteo.
Esther is a long-term member of ASCAP and has shared a publishing deal with BMG music. She licenses her music to film and television soundtracks for Warner Bros, Miramax, Lifetime, SyFy, and Netflix, among others. As a performer, Esther has graced the stages of famous venues across the globe, including Joe's Pub, The Cutting Room, The Whiskey GoGo, The Knitting Factory, The House of Blues, The Viper Room, The Roxy, and The Lovestock Festival.
Esther is also the frontwoman of the cinematic, electronic-pop duo LionGale, alongside composer and producer Lionel Cohen. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of collaborating with award-winning producers such as Jimmy Harry, Tommy Coster, Frederik Weidmann, Peter Michael Escovedom, Lionel Cohen, Angelo Milli, Lucas Vidal, Andy Heard, Anthony Krizan, Skully, David Merige, and Mark Garcia.
