Erica started her photography journey at the tender age of twelve, equipped with a Nikon EM camera and a customized set of lenses crafted by her father. Growing up on the sets of renowned filmmakers like Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, and Alan Parker, she had the privilege of learning from esteemed cinematographers such as Freddie Francis, Jack Cardiff, Pete Biziou, Freddie Young, and Billy Williams. Her brothers, too, followed in her footsteps, becoming cinematographers themselves. With a creative spark innate to her, Erica's passion for photography and filmmaking only intensified with time.
As a director, Erica is celebrated for her exceptional ability to elicit outstanding performances from her actors. Her infectious spirit and uncanny instinct for capturing the subtle nuances of human emotion have earned her the trust of her casts, allowing them to flourish under her guidance. Erica's approach to directing is rooted in a deep understanding of the collaborative nature of filmmaking, striking a delicate balance between empowering actors to explore their own creative instincts and introducing new possibilities to the table.
Erica's academic background is equally impressive, having graduated from Durham University with a law degree before pursuing a three-year course at the prestigious National Film and Television School (NFTS). Her extensive experience in writing, directing, and producing multiple award-winning feature films has solidified her reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
Her feature film debut, "Find Love," premiered at Slamdance and received critical acclaim, winning several awards including the 'Best Independent Vision' at the Sarasota Film Festival. Her subsequent films, "The 27 Club" and "To.get.her," also garnered widespread recognition, with the latter winning the Best of Next Audience Award and the Best Fiction Film at the Sarasota Film Festival.
In addition to her feature film work, Erica has made significant contributions to television, directing episodes for popular shows such as "Bluff City Law," "Baker and The Beauty," "The Bold Type," "Good Trouble," "One Tree Hill," and "The Royals." Her latest feature, "Abigail Falls," stars Jazzy De Lisser and Billy Baldwin, further solidifying her status as a versatile and accomplished filmmaker.
