Eric Stanze is a highly acclaimed and award-winning filmmaker with a diverse range of credits, including director, writer, producer, editor, Director of Photography, and 2nd Unit Director. His extensive body of work encompasses independent feature films, music videos, documentaries, short films, and more.
Stanze's filmmaking journey began with his debut film Savage Harvest in 1994, which has since developed a devoted cult following. However, it was his innovative and visually striking film Ice From The Sun, released in 1999, that catapulted him to prominence as a distinctive and constantly evolving filmmaker. The release of Scrapbook in the same year further solidified his reputation, earning widespread critical acclaim and the distinction of being named Best Independent Film Of The Year by Rue Morgue Magazine.
Stanze has also demonstrated his versatility by working as 2nd Unit Director for two notable films, Stake Land (2010) and We Are What We Are (2013),both directed by Jim Mickle. These films received widespread recognition and accolades at various film festivals, as well as praise from critics and horror fans alike.
In addition to his feature film work, Stanze has edited and co-produced several behind-the-scenes documentaries for Paramount Pictures, which were released as part of the studio's Blu-ray collections.
