Born in Patterson, New Jersey, Eric Nyenhuis spent his formative years in East Orange and Montclair, where he attended Montclair High School alongside fellow actor Alex Winter.
In 1999, Eric joined Ken Shamrock's Submission Academy, competing under the Lions Den flag. A year later, he convinced Bob Shamrock to launch a professional wrestling program. After completing his training, Eric went on to compete globally, making his debut in Hawaii for Hawaii Pro Wrestling and his final match against John "Muscles" Marinara for Victory Pro Wrestling in Long Island, New York.
Eric's post-wrestling career saw him work in marketing, contracted fighters with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship),and eventually landed a role with sports radio host Scott Ferrel at Sirius XM in New York, making his radio debut with Jackie Martling on Jackie's Joke Land on Sirius XM.
In 2005, at the urging of veteran actor John Savage, Eric began his acting career, working with coaches Earnest Thomas and Richard Hatch, who was impressed by Eric's reading of The RainMaker.
Eric went on to co-create and host one of the first live podcasts in America, Retro Radio Live, which featured over 900 celebrity interviews and reached #1 on iTunes, with over four million listeners.

Eric made his directorial debut in 2018 with two titles, Credible and Inspired, and continues to work with producing partner David Gere, executive producer Douglas Cartelli, and has collaborated with Lions Gate and Netflix.
Eric was subsequently hired to direct a new series on the history of wrestling legend Karl Gotch and the early days of MMA in Japan with the Fugiwara-Gumi and Pancrase Hybrid Wrestling (TM).
