Eric Matheny is a multifaceted creative individual, with a plethora of talents that span the realms of acting, screenwriting, directing, producing, and co-founding The Acting Center, a renowned institution based in Los Angeles.
Matheny's impressive filmography includes notable roles such as Joseph Cotten in Andrew Dominick's "Blonde" (2022),Dr. Max Jacobson opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar", and the series lead on the FOX TV pilot "That Guy", directed by Betty Thomas.
In addition to his film work, Matheny has starred in several television movies, including "The Beach Boys: An American Family", and has made guest appearances or recurred on numerous prime-time hit shows, including "Charmed", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "CSI", "NCIS", and "Bones".
Matheny's journey in the entertainment industry began in Atlanta, Georgia, where he started acting at the age of 13. At 16, he made his network TV debut as the star of the Emmy-nominated ABC Movie of the Week "Run Down the Rabbit", opposite Roger E. Mosely.
As a writer, Matheny has penned original screenplays, including "Watershed", which is currently in pre-production with Nick Quested directing, and Brent Emery, Goldcrest Films, and Matheny producing. He has also co-written "America" with Isa Totah and Will Potter, with Oscar-winner Mark Johnson set to produce, and "Lately" with Juliette Lewis, which is also in pre-production with Killer Films.
The Acting Center, founded by Matheny and his co-founders, is a passion project that has developed a revolutionary technique for training actors, and has worked with some of Hollywood's biggest names and freshest faces.
Matheny is also involved with various charitable organizations and resides with his wife, Lissa Walker Matheny, in Studio City, California.
