Eric Mansker, a renowned stuntman and actor, hailed from the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. However, his life took an unexpected turn at the tender age of ten when he was diagnosed with spinal meningitis. This diagnosis brought his physical activities to a grinding halt for a year, forcing him to adapt to a new reality.
Despite this setback, Mansker's indomitable spirit and determination propelled him to rejoin his childhood friends in playful activities about a year after his diagnosis. As he grew older, he discovered a newfound passion for athletics, joining his high school track team as a hurdler and high jumper.
After graduating from high school, Mansker enlisted in the U.S. Marines, where he honed his discipline and resilience. Following his enlistment, he pursued his passion for the performing arts by enrolling in the cinema program at Los Angeles City College, subsequently transferring to UCLA.
Mansker's career as both a stuntman and an actor spanned an impressive three decades, with his early days marked by his work as an extra and stuntman in the late 1970s. However, his journey was not without its challenges. In the early 1990s, he was diagnosed with a hyperthyroid condition called "Graves," which necessitated radiation treatment to alleviate his symptoms.
Tragedy struck again in 2003 when Mansker's doctor discovered an enlarged adrenal gland, requiring further radiation treatment and chemotherapy. Although this diagnosis took a toll on his body, Mansker's unwavering fighting spirit remained unbroken.
Sadly, Eric Mansker lost his battle with cancer in April 2019, leaving behind a legacy that transcended his remarkable career. He was the proud father of three children, and his memory will continue to inspire generations to come.
