Biography

Eric Caidin, a renowned and cherished figure within the Hollywood film fan community, hailed from Beverly Hills. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish the iconic memorabilia store, Hollywood Book and Poster Company, in 1977. This treasure trove of cinematic delights sold an impressive array of items, including film stills, posters, books, magazines, DVDs, and t-shirts. The store's excellence was widely recognized, earning the prestigious title of "Best Movie Poster Store" in 2001 from "The Los Angeles New Times."

Beyond his business ventures, Caidin was an avid enthusiast of exploitation films and co-presented the popular Grindhouse Film Festival at the New Beverly Cinema alongside fellow aficionado Brian Quinn. He also made appearances in various movies and documentaries, often playing himself. Notably, Eric and Johnny Legend contributed to the engaging commentaries for the Something Weird DVD releases of "Mondo Mod," "Mondo Freudo," "Mondo Bizzaro," and "The Hippie Revolt."

Caidin was a regular fixture at film conventions across the United States, and his love for cinema extended to professional wrestling events. Tragically, his life was cut short in 2015 at the age of 62 due to an aneurysm, mere days after attending a Palm Springs film noir festival. Despite his passing, Eric Caidin's legacy as a film enthusiast and entrepreneur continues to inspire and delight fans of cinema worldwide.
