Emma Jenkins-Purro, a dual citizen of the United States of America and New Zealand, was born in Providence, Rhode Island, but her life took a significant turn when her family relocated to New Zealand when she was just four years old.
After completing her education, Emma pursued a three-year training program at one of New Zealand's leading drama schools, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious New Zealand Unitec in 2019.
Emma's entry into the acting scene was quite challenging, as she debuted during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, she persevered, and as soon as New Zealand reopened, she landed her first stage role in Tim Bray's Theatre Company production of Greedy Cat, playing the character of Katie. She also appeared in the short film Bygones (2022),for which she won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Prodigy Film Festival.
In 2021, Emma secured a significant role in the award-winning New Zealand TV drama The Brokenwood Mysteries (2014),playing the character of Olivia for South Pacific Pictures, New Zealand's premier production company. Following her work on Brokenwood, Emma was cast in the Ti West-directed feature film Pearl (2022),starring Mia Goth, and landed the major supporting role of Misty Douglas, filmed in New Zealand.
Emma's impressive acting career continued with back-to-back series, including My Life Is Murder for Jigsaw Films Australia and the US Netflix series One of Us is Lying, in which she played the role of Giselle Ward.
Today, Emma is represented by Gail Cowan Management (GCM) & Industry Entertainment, solidifying her position as a talented and dedicated actress in the entertainment industry.
