Biography

Ellen D. Williams, a talented individual, embarked on her journey in the city of Santa Monica, California, where she nurtured her passion for theatre performance at California State University-Long Beach, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Following her academic pursuits, Ellen ventured to Seattle, where she immersed herself in the city's vibrant theatre scene, performing in various productions and traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest with an educational theatre troupe.

Her professional career took off when she landed a role in the cult musical, 'Moby Dick', produced by the renowned Sir Cameron Mackintosh. After returning to Los Angeles, Ellen continued to hone her craft, taking on more theatre roles and earning a nomination for Leading Female Performance from LA Weekly in 2009 for her work in 'Ruby, Tragically Rotund'.

Ellen's most notable role to date is that of "Patrice", Robin Scherbatsky's frenemy and coworker, on the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which premiered in 2005. Currently, she stars alongside Zach Galifianakis on the FX series Baskets, which debuted in 2016.

Ellen currently resides in Los Angeles, where she continues to pursue her passion for acting and remains an integral part of the entertainment industry.
