Daughter of a Brigadier General, Elizabeth Sampson was born on Memorial Day at the prestigious West Point Military Academy. Her childhood was marked by a nomadic lifestyle, with her family relocating to various cities around the world, including Buenos Aires, Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Wurzburg, London, Washington D.C., Washington State, Michigan, Texas, South Carolina, and New York. Despite the frequent moves, Elizabeth attended 16 different schools before graduating from Cranbrook in Michigan and later earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Antioch and a Master of Fine Arts degree from The American Conservatory Theatre.
As a multifaceted artist, Elizabeth Sampson is a talented actor, director, spoken word artist, playwright, and screenwriter. Her impressive list of credits includes numerous stage productions, including "The Skeleton Flower" with The Road Theatre Company, "Beginnings - A Barbary Coast Play" commissioned by The American Conservatory Theater, and "The Petoskey Stones" performed at The Road Theatre Company and The Bay Theatre Company in Annapolis, Maryland.
Elizabeth's work as an actor has taken her to various stages, including the prestigious A.C.T., where she was part of the resident acting company and performed in the west coast premiere of "1918," as well as "Christmas Carol" and "Twelfth Night." Her NYC credits include "Bringing' Home the Girl" (co-writer and actor) and "King of the Moon" (director). In Los Angeles, she has been seen in "Detachments" with Glenn Hedley at the Loretta Theatre Company and is a founding company member of A Noise Within, where she performed in "The Way of the World."
As a director, Elizabeth has helmed productions such as "Spring Dance" at Pepperdine University, "King of the Moon" at The Groundlings LA and Present Theatre Company NYC, and numerous staged readings in and around Los Angeles.
In addition to her stage work, Elizabeth has also made a name for herself in television, with recurring roles on "Law and Order True Crime The Menendez Murders," "Aquarius," "Rizzoli and Isles," "Law and Order: Los Angeles," "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice," "Without a Trace," "E.R.," "Boston Legal," "Strong Medicine," "The Unit," "Cold Case," "The Pretender," and "Medical Mystery Investigation." She has also appeared in several films, including "Last Rampage - The Escape of Gary Tison," "Leaving Barstow," "As Easy as Pie," "Battle of the Sexes" (Sundance),"Disfigured," and "Modern Vampires" with Rod Steiger.
Elizabeth has been performing her short stories in various spoken word events in Los Angeles for over 20 years, including "Common Ground," "Spark Off Rose," "Melt In Your Mouth," "Tell-IT!," "Tree People," and "Stories@ThePlayhouse." She is a member of Actors' Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
