Eliza Helm is a multifaceted individual, exceling in both the worlds of writing and acting. Her most notable role to date is that of Young Cat (CJ) Grant on the CW's popular television series "Supergirl".
Most recently, Eliza made it to the final round of the prestigious Sundance Film Festival Episodic Labs for a pilot she had written. Throughout her career, she has written and starred in over 40 sketches and shorts, which have garnered attention from notable platforms such as Funny or Die, Facebook Watch, and WhoHaha.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Eliza's early life laid the groundwork for her future pursuits. After graduating from Marlborough High School, she attended Northwestern University, where she earned degrees in Theatre and Sociology. Following her time at Northwestern, Eliza relocated to Chicago, where she honed her craft in both commercial and theatrical settings, eventually securing a spot in the exclusive Second City Conservatory Program.
Upon graduating from Second City, Eliza returned to Los Angeles, where she leveraged her foundation in sketch comedy writing to explore the realms of writing shorts and pilots. Her impressive skills have recently been showcased at the esteemed Ojai Playwrights Festival, where she performed in two new works, one directed by Robert Egan (Mark Taper Forum) and the other by Casey Stangl (La Jolla Playhouse, South Coast Rep). The latter received glowing reviews in the LA Times.
