Eli Batalion is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in various creative fields, including writing, producing, directing, acting, and composing for film, television, the web, and the stage.
Eli's career in musical theatre began with the internationally touring play "JOB: The Hip-Hop Musical," which earned numerous awards and accolades. He then teamed up with partner Jerome Sable to create the musical horror comedy short "The Legend of Beaver Dam," which premiered at several prestigious film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance, and the Berlinale.
Building on their success, Eli and Jerome co-created the feature horror musical comedy "Stage Fright," starring Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf. This was followed by the development of "YidLife Crisis," a project that started as an award-winning fictional web series and has since evolved into an unscripted digital docu-series, a documentary feature, and a documentary series.
Eli's latest solo writing and directing feature film debut, "Appiness," received support from Telefilm Canada and the Talent Fund, and is now distributed by Gravitas Ventures. This film showcases Eli's versatility and range as a filmmaker.
Throughout his career, Eli has received numerous awards and accolades for his work. He holds a DEC in Creative Arts from Dawson College, a B.A. from Brown University, and an M.B.A. from HEC Montréal.
