Edward Nyahay, also known as Gotholic, is a classically-trained vocalist who has been influenced by a wide range of artists, including Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, Sopor Aeternus, and Alice Cooper. He has a three-octave vocal range and has created a new genre of music, film, and entertainment called Gotholic, which combines his apocalyptic and Byzantine/Roman Catholic beliefs with Gothic influences.
Gotholic has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1997 and has written novels, feature screenplays, and award-winning shorts. He has also produced over 2000 YouTube videos and is the creator of several successful YouTube channels.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Gotholic has also had a successful career in sales, achieving top 15% of all Honda sales globally and serving as the Internet Manager at Vista Ford Lincoln and Sunrise Ford. He was also a part of the Galpin Team that won the grand prize of fifty thousand dollars on National Television, TLC's "The Singing Office" in 2008.
Gotholic Records, which is a part of ASCAP, consists of many musical collaborations with award-winning music producers. Gotholic is known for his haunted vocals, theatrics, and lyrics, which have been known to reach down into hell and pull souls out for Christ.
Throughout his career, Gotholic has been influenced by a wide range of artists, including Zalman King, Salvador Dali, Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, WASP, DIO, BLACK SABBATH, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Pink Floyd, Journey, The Dead Can Dance, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, and SKINNY PUPPY, among others.
Gotholic has studied vocals under Kelle Rhoads, the brother of Randy Rhoads, and has been coached vocally by Paula Sworney, Leslie Kanter, Christy Lawson, Max Wasa, Bobbie Shaw Chance, and Richard Brander. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMass, Boston in 1995 with a degree in Art, Film, and Theater.
In his free time, Gotholic enjoys teaching video production, screen-play writing, on-camera acting, directing, and editing. He has created curriculums and taught at various institutions around the country, including Florida, New York, and California. Many of his students have gone on to attend top film schools and currently work in the entertainment industry.
Gotholic has also been a part of several TV shows and has produced and edited a TV show with his wife, Actress Jacqueline Lovell, called "Forest Bathing: Friends w/benefits," directed by and starring Jacqueline Lovell.
