Eddie Sternberg's debut feature film, "I USED TO BE FAMOUS", starring Ed Skrein, Eleanor Matsuura, and Leo Long, was adapted from his award-winning short of the same name and released by Netflix in September 2022.
This film reached the Top 10 most-watched films on Netflix in over 60 countries, including the number two spot in the UK, number eight in the US, and number four globally, during that month.
Notably, "I USED TO BE FAMOUS" was long-listed for five British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs),with Leo Long nominated for Breakthrough Performance for his portrayal of Stevie in the film.
Additionally, the film was nominated for Best British Film and Best Comedy at the National Film Awards, and it has received widespread acclaim from prominent publications such as Variety, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, and The National Autistic Society for its authentic portrayal of Autism.
Hot Press magazine praised the film, stating that director Eddie Sternberg and producer Collie McCarthy have crafted a cinematic gem that is having a real-world impact on the issue of representation, and that the film may set a precedent for working conditions in film regarding neurodivergent individuals in the industry, both in front of and behind the camera.
In 2022, Eddie Sternberg was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow, and he is currently in development on his second feature film.
