Biography

Eddie Fetherstone, a vaudevillian by trade, yet inexplicably typecast as a journalist, newspaperman, news or cinema operator, photographer, and reporter, appearing over forty times on screen despite having no connection to the field.

His physical appearance, for reasons unknown, was once linked to the journalism profession, and so his casting directors went along with it. In reality, Eddie Fetherstone's true calling was comedy, and he often worked with notable directors such as Frank Capra, Leo McCarey, John Ford, and Harold Lloyd.

Although his roles were often tiny and easily missed, Eddie Fetherstone had a knack for wisecracking and honesty, showcasing his comedic core. He also found success in smaller roles, often playing cabbies, barkers, or henchmen, thugs, and hoods.

Directors such as D. Ross Lederman and C.C. Coleman frequently cast him in B-movies, particularly cop and robber adventures, where his presence was a staple. Despite never reaching stardom, Eddie Fetherstone remained a faithful companion to the movie industry for nearly four decades.
