Duncan Lamont embarked on his illustrious career in the 1940s, commencing with appearances in notable productions such as "Waterfront Women" (1950) and "Quentin Durward" (1955). Subsequently, he ventured to Hollywood, where he landed a significant role in the acclaimed film "Mutiny on the Bounty" (1962). Following his return to Britain, Lamont went on to star in one of his most cherished roles, opposite the esteemed Margaret Rutherford, in the 1963 production "Murder at the Gallop". He humorously described himself as a "heavy with a capacity for light villainy", emphasizing that he never truly embodied a wicked character. Rather, he often found himself on the wrong side of the law, only to be met with justice and ultimately, defeat or demise.
