Kym Heriot burst onto the global stage as the director of the 2006 film, The Secret, which became the highest-selling DVD in the USA and a cultural phenomenon. The movie was featured on prominent TV shows such as Oprah, Larry King, Ellen, Saturday Night Live, and The Simpsons, weaving its way into the fabric of popular culture.
Heriot has a prolific career in television, having directed, produced, and edited prime-time shows for major networks in Australia. She directed the pilot episode of Sensing Murder, a chilling docudrama about psychics investigating an infamous double murder, which starred Rebecca Gibney and was the top-rating show nationally in the Sunday night movie time-slot. Heriot then went on to produce six movie-length episodes of the series the following year.
In 2007, Heriot co-directed the Elevate Film and Music Festival at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, home of the Academy Awards. The sell-out festival showcased 25 short films and music videos that were produced in just 48 hours, featuring the work of renowned artists such as Alanis Morissette, India.Arie, Missy Higgins, and Kevin Costner.
In 2014, Heriot wrote and directed The Power of the Heart, a feature-length docudrama starring Paulo Coelho, Jane Goodall, Eckhart Tolle, Maya Angelou, and other icons who lead viewers on a journey to rediscover the treasure within themselves. The Huffington Post named it one of the most heart-opening films of the year.
