Donald Victor Kress, the firstborn son of Victor Kress, a mechanical engineer, and Elia Moreschi, an executive secretary, was born on September 2, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in Chicago, Don attended Hurley Elementary and Bogan High School before enrolling in Chicago City Junior College in 1965, where he earned his Associate Degree in science with a minor in Business in 1967.
After completing his associate degree, Don attended Carthage College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science in 1970. Following graduation, Don relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, and pursued a career in Business & Advertising. He worked in the field for several years before deciding to run his own advertising company, setting up marketing programs for notable companies such as State Farm, Anheuser-Busch, the American Cancer Society, and Enterprise Leasing.
In the late 1970s, Don's creative side began to emerge, and he started to explore his passion for acting. After the birth of his fourth child in 1988, Don returned to his hometown of Chicago, where he and his brother co-owned and operated their restaurant, Rico D's, while Don continued to work on his consulting business.
In 2006, Don's youngest daughter expressed interest in screenwriting for films, which led him to research various film sets and discover his on-camera presence. This sparked his commitment to honing his acting craft, and he began taking acting classes and auditioning as an actor/extra for various projects. Don's first audition was with the Chicago Motion Picture Studios, where he learned the ins and outs of acting and eventually became an integral part of the studio.
In 2008, Don participated as a contestant on the TV show "Who Wants To Be A TV Producer," where his videos "Fitness With Fedora" and "Santa Is A Wiseguy" won first and second place. Since then, Don has appeared as an actor/extra in over 40 films, 25 television projects, and 10 commercials. He has also worked as an executive producer for Get Lucky Productions and is currently helping produce a feature film and several TV pilots as President and C.E.O. of California Sun.
Don is a creative, funny, and talented individual who can act, produce, write, and direct. He enjoys the art of improvisation and aims to continue entertaining people through TV and movie projects that will resonate with them.
