Born on June 8, 1957, Dimple Kapadia, a Gujarati-speaking individual, was the daughter of a businessman, Chunnibhai, and Betty. She had a younger sister, Simple, who was born on August 15, 1958.
Dimple's entry into the film industry was facilitated by the renowned filmmaker, Raj Kapoor, who signed her up to star alongside his son, Rishi, in the 1973 blockbuster, "Bobby." The film catapulted Rishi and Dimple to stardom, with Dimple being just 16 years old at the time of the film's release.
Prior to the release of "Bobby," Dimple had become a die-hard fan of the super-star, Rajesh Khanna, and the two met and got married exactly six months before the film's release. Rajesh was 15 years her senior, and after her marriage, Dimple quit the film industry.
On Rajesh's 32nd birthday, the couple welcomed their daughter, Twinkle, nicknamed Tina. Subsequently, on July 27, 1977, Dimple and Rajesh became parents to their second child, Rinke, who would later follow in her mother's footsteps and become an actress in her own right.
Dimple and Rajesh's marriage eventually ended in separation in 1982, allowing her to make a comeback to the film industry with the 1984 film, "Zakhmi Sher." Since then, Dimple has continued to act in numerous films, accumulating a total of over 69 movies to her credit. Some of her most popular films include "Saagar," "Insaaf," "Zakhmi Aurat," "Ram Lakhan," and "Batwara."
