Biography

Digby Cook's illustrious career began as a news writer at the Global Television Network, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience producing a variety of newscasts and specials.

His next move took him to Australia, where he worked as a reporter for the Darwin Sun newspaper, further expanding his portfolio.

Upon his return to Canada, Digby was appointed news producer at CBC Toronto, and went on to write and produce for CBC Newsworld and The National.

Since then, he has focused on writing, producing, and directing documentaries and specials, contributing to programs that have appeared on numerous networks, including CTV, MTV (US),Discovery Canada, Discovery (US),PBS, TVO, History Television, The Travel Channel, CNN, Dr. Phil, and All India Television.

Some of his recent career highlights include producing and directing "Courage & Compassion - The Story of Dr. Joseph Wong" for Rogers & the Biography Channel in 2005.

In 2006, he served as writer and interviewer for "The Hong Kong Connection - Canada & The New China", a five-part series for Rogers.

Digby's passion for history has led him to work on several projects, including serving as story editor and writer for the series "Historylands" for History Television, and "Great Canadian Rivers" for Discovery.

In 2008, he served as Executive Story Editor on "Iris Chang & The Rape of Nanking" for History Television, which received medals at the Atlanta Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.

He also wrote "Ronnie Hawkins - Still Alive and Kickin'" for CTV, which won the 2006 Gemini for Best Biography, and "The Prince of Pot" (2008) for CBC, which won a silver medal at the New York Television and Film Festival.

In addition to his writing and producing credits, Digby has also contributed field reports to the "Dr. Phil Show".

In 2012, Digby and his team worked with the Government of Ontario's Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation on a series of videos promoting the province, including a recent piece on Ontario's Financial Services sector, which premiered at a special international event in London during the Olympic Games.
