Diane's illustrious career commenced at the tender age of 14, when she took on the esteemed role of Louisa in the esteemed production of 'The Sound of Music' at the iconic Palace Theatre in London. Prior to her stint on the stage, she honed her skills as a dancer at the renowned London Palladium. Her television debut came in the form of Penny Richardson in the long-running series 'Crossroads', a role she held for a remarkable 18 months.
However, it was her portrayal of Jenny in the critically acclaimed film 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' that cemented her status as a talented young actress. She went on to appear in numerous plays and shows in London's prestigious West End, as well as on television, with notable appearances in 'Coronation Street' and as an original cast member of 'Emmerdale Farm'.
In her personal life, Diane married the dashing Derek Ryan in 1973, and subsequently took a career hiatus to start a family. Two beautiful children, Amy (born 1978) and Christopher (born 1984),brought immense joy to her life. Following her return to the workforce, Diane dedicated herself to teaching drama at Act One Beginners in East Grinstead, while also pursuing her passion for writing a musical.
