Dheeraj is a renowned filmmaker and producer who has made a significant impact in both Punjabi and Hindi cinema. He has collaborated with the acclaimed director Vikram Bhatt on three consecutive horror films, including 1920, Shaapit, and Phirr.
Dheeraj made his mark in the Punjabi film industry as a screenplay and dialogue writer with the highly successful film Mel Karade Rabba, starring Jimmy Shergill, Gippy Grewal, and Neeru Bajwa. This film went on to become the biggest Punjabi hit at the time, and since then, he has written several other Punjabi blockbusters, including Jatt and Juliet 1 and 2, Best of Luck, and Romeo Ranjha.
Dheeraj's films, such as Shareek, Ambarsariya, Sardaar Ji 2, Kaptaan, and Jindua, have achieved widespread commercial success. He has also worked with RSVP on the Netflix original film Bhangra Paa Le, starring Sunny Kaushal.
In addition to his work in films, Dheeraj has co-written the screenplay for Kunal Deshmukh's Shiddat, produced by Maddock and released on Disney+ Hotstar. He has also co-written the action drama film Chobbar, the Punjabi film Parahuna 2, and penned the story for the dramedy Jatt Brothers.
Currently, Dheeraj is working on a feature screenplay for a leading Indian studio and developing an original dramedy series. His directorial feature, Tufang, a Punjabi gritty crime thriller, is set to release in theatres in July.
