Born and raised in Azusa, California, a city nestled in one of Los Angeles' roughest neighborhoods, Chan grew up surrounded by a diverse community of immigrant families. The aroma of homemade tortillas and the rustling of corn stalks in urban backyards are some of the defining characteristics of her childhood memories. As a child, she was drawn to the world of performing arts and received a solid foundation in acting at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she studied various conservatory theatrical techniques including Meisner, Adler, Suzuki, voice, speech, and criticism.
At the tender age of 15, she attended New York University's prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, becoming the youngest person to join the school. Since leaving New York in 2007, Chan has toured the world, receiving accolades for her performances. In Los Angeles, she has had the privilege of performing at esteemed venues such as the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
Her impressive acting credits include starring roles in edgy indie films, as well as appearances on popular television shows like "Excused" on CBS and "Your Chance to Dance" on MTV. She has also lent her talents to a national and international commercial for the "Lord of the Rings" online game and has appeared in several award-winning trailers. In addition to her acting work, Chan has continued to hone her craft through various acting classes, including the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles.
Chan's ultimate goal is to secure challenging dramatic and comedic roles in both television and film, with the hope of bringing innovative stories to life that challenge, excite, and embolden people to live life to the fullest with courage and honesty. When she is not performing, Chan enjoys volunteering with humanitarian organizations and has a passion for exploring abandoned urban buildings, crumbling relics, and natural areas.
In her spare time, she can be found volunteering as an international observer in armed conflicts, where she has saved lives and been held at gunpoint. Chan currently resides in Los Angeles, where she continues to pursue her passion for acting and humanitarian work.
