Dean Denton was born in the charming town of Dermott, Arkansas, where his early years were shaped by the warmth and hospitality of the local community. As he grew older, he relocated to McGehee and Conway, Arkansas, where he developed a strong sense of self and a passion for the performing arts.
In 1981, Dean's academic pursuits took him to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he embarked on a journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration. During his freshman year, he caught the attention of casting directors when he auditioned for and landed a minor role in the TV mini-series "The Blue and the Gray," which was being filmed on campus and in Northwest Arkansas.
This initial foray into the world of acting proved to be a pivotal moment in Dean's life, as it introduced him to the renowned actor Stacy Keach. Keach, who was working on the production, recognized Dean's talent and encouraged him to take the leap and pursue a career in Los Angeles or New York. Before taking the advice of his mentor, Dean opted to stay in Texas and hone his craft at the Film Actors Lab, where he studied alongside the likes of Adam Roarke and Lou Diamond Phillips.
After several years of working on various commercials, films, and TV projects in Texas, Dean made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles in 1989. The first week in LA proved to be a game-changer, as Dean landed his first acting role on the popular TV show "Days of Our Lives." This breakthrough role paved the way for bigger and more challenging roles, ultimately leading to the signing of an agent and a thriving career in the entertainment industry.
Today, Dean has amassed an impressive resume, boasting over 55 credits in TV, film, and commercial projects. He is married to Julie Denton, who is first cousin to the talented actor Josh Lucas, known for his iconic role in the film "Sweet Home Alabama."
