Dax Ravina's journey began in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he pursued a degree in sociology and criminology at Saint Mary's University. During his time at the university, he discovered his passion for the performing arts and joined the drama society, landing his first role in a play, A Streetcar Named Desire, where he portrayed the iconic character of Stanley Kowalski.
Following his university days, Dax enrolled in the prestigious Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto to hone his acting skills. His talent and dedication soon paid off, as he was cast in his first feature film, Wisegirls, directed by the renowned David Anspaugh, who has also worked on films like Rudy and Hoosiers.
Dax's breakthrough role came with the award-winning short film Backjumping, which was later developed into a CBC pilot, Cheap Draft, directed by Jay Dahl. This success led to collaborations with Hollywood heavyweights, including Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Taryn Manning, Terrance Howard, Matt Dillon, and Ron Perlman, among others.
Throughout his career, Dax has appeared in six feature films produced by Darius Films, a Los Angeles-Toronto based production company. Notable projects include The Retirement Plan, starring Nicholas Cage, and The Blue Iguana, starring the late Bob Saget, which was filmed in Grand Cayman.
In recent years, Dax has made a name for himself in the horror genre, starring in Shudder's hit feature VHS94 and landing a recurring role as Officer Gordon on the popular Netflix series Trailer Park Boys.
Currently, Dax splits his time between Los Angeles and Toronto, represented by Nigel Mikoski with Connekt Creative Agency in Vancouver.
