Biography

David studied Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art, where he spent his time traveling extensively throughout South East Asia, capturing the essence of the region through his camera lens. His graduation film, "The Sakkudei," was shot on the island of Siberut and showcased his unique perspective on the world.

After leaving college, David went on to make a series of documentaries for the National Gallery in London, honing his skills as a filmmaker. He then transitioned to freelance work, editing films, music videos, and concerts for a variety of artists, including Blur, Oasis, The Travelling Wilburys, Eurythmics, and Take That.

David's experience in the industry led him to pursue a degree in directing at the National Film and Television School, where he graduated with an award-winning short film, "The Cold Earth." This English Civil War road movie, shot on location in the Black Mountains of Wales, showcased David's ability to bring complex stories to life.

Throughout his career, David has been drawn to strong, issue-led dramas. He has directed a number of critically acclaimed films and television shows, including "Life for Daniel," a poignant story about a mother's struggle to control her child's treatment, written by Rebecca Hughes. David has also directed episodes of "Judge John Deed," "StarStreet," and "Living on Water," a Channel 4 documentary that he also produced.

In 2007, David worked as a second unit director and editor on "Clubbed," Formosa Films' first feature. This successful collaboration with producer/director Neil Thompson led to David co-directing "Twenty8K," a thriller written by Jimmy Dowdall and Paul Abbott, starring Parminder Nagra and set in London's East End. The film was produced by Martin Carr.

Today, David lives with his partner and son on a Dutch barge on the River Thames, where he continues to work on a variety of projects, always pushing the boundaries of his craft.
