David Green is a renowned British film director, television producer, and media executive. Born in London, England, to Evelyn Morris and Louis Green, he was educated at Bury Grammar School and Trinity College, Oxford, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature.
Green's career in television began at Yorkshire Television, where he quickly rose to become the youngest YTV programme director. He directed the launch of Emmerdale, a 60-episode series, as well as 29 one-hour episodes of Whicker's World, a three-part American medical series. He also directed two European political documentaries narrated by Robert Kee and a film about Elvis fronted by David Frost.
As a major figure in the British and American film and television industries, Green has worked on motion pictures and TV projects in virtually every genre. His movie directing credits include the award-winning romantic comedy and crime drama Buster, featuring Phil Collins and Julie Walters, and the $22 million action-adventure film Wings of the Apache, starring Nicolas Cage, Tommy Lee Jones, and Sean Young.
For television, Green has directed over 100 dramas and documentaries, including The Golden Land for BBC1, The Boy in the Bubble for ITV, Wilfred and Eileen for BBC Drama, and the ITV movie 1914 All Out, which was awarded the Public Prize at the Reims Festival of Television. He has also directed numerous other TV dramas, including Nobody's House for ITV and The Chinese Detective for BBC1.

In 1992, Green founded September Films, an independent film and television production company with offices in London and Los Angeles. The company made over two thousand hours of prime-time television, including the landmark Hollywood Women series and ten seasons of the American flagship show Bridezillas, both of which he created.
September Films produced several award-winning feature films, including the Oscar-nominated Solomon & Gaenor and House of America. The company was also awarded the Montreux Rose d'Or for Ozzy Osbourne Uncut. Green was executive producer of all three award-winning productions.
Green joined production and distribution Group DCD Media plc in 2007, when September Films was acquired by DCD. He took on the role of group chief creative officer before becoming CEO in 2009 and executive chairman in 2012. From October 2012 to August 2016, he was president and chairman of September Films USA and executive, then non-executive, director of DCD Media.
Today, Green lives in LA, where he is working on a new raft of feature film and TV productions under his Polygon banner. He has three children, Jessica, Samuel, and Jacob, and is a lifelong, passionate supporter of Manchester City F.C.
