Biography

David Färdmar is a multifaceted creative force, serving as a Director, Screenwriter, Producer, and Casting Director based in Göteborg, Sweden. His directorial feature film debut, ARE WE LOST FOREVER, made its World Premiere at the Göteborg Film Festival in early 2020, garnering widespread recognition and securing distribution in 37 countries.

Prior to this achievement, Färdmar wrote and directed the acclaimed and provocative short film My name is Love (2008),which has been showcased at over 70 film festivals and earned 10 prizes for Best Short Film. This groundbreaking film boasts an impressive cast, featuring Adam Lundgren, Jonas Rimeika, and Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander.

In addition to his work on My name is Love, Färdmar produced the short film Life is Tennis (2009) and directed and produced A sting of Maud, which won the Best Swedish Novella Film/Audience Award at the Göteborg Film Festival in 2011. This film has been screened at 15 film festivals and boasts a talented cast, including Lisa Linnertorp, Reine Brynolfsson, and Eurovision Song Contest singer Siw Malmkvist.

Färdmar's extensive filmography also includes producing the multi-award winning short film A Last Farewell (2013),directed by Casper Andreas, which has been screened at 130 film festivals and won 18 awards. This critically acclaimed film features an impressive cast, including Tomas von Brömssen, Iwar Wiklander, and Liv Mjönes.

Furthermore, Färdmar directed and produced the feature documentary film No Tears Behind the Camera (2013),a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Swedish feature film Shed No Tears (2013).

In 2016, Färdmar co-directed and produced the short film We Could Be Parents, starring and directed by Björn Elgerd, which has been screened at 35 film festivals and won 2 awards.

Färdmar's latest short film, No More We, writer and director, premiered at the Göteborg Film Festival in 2018 and has since been showcased at 45 film festivals, earning 5 awards. This film served as the foundation for his feature film debut, ARE WE LOST FOREVER, which stars Björn Elgerd and Jonathan Andersson.

In addition to his work in film, Färdmar has also served as a Casting Director for numerous TV series, including Threesome, Ängelby, The Fat and The Angry, 183 Days, and Snapphanar, as well as several feature films, such as Call Mom!, Shed no Tears, She Monkeys, Ciao Bella, and Storm.
