David DeSanctis, a 27-year-old individual with a rich background in drama, choir, and broadcast journalism, hails from Louisville, Kentucky. During his high school years, he actively participated in all three of these passions, further augmenting his impressive resume. As a host, he frequently took to the microphone to emcee local events that supported individuals with Down syndrome, including those with whom he shared a similar condition.
It was only natural, then, when a film production team arrived in town seeking a young man with Down syndrome for a lead role that they would exclaim, "You need to meet David!" And thus, the opportunity to star in the feature film "Where Hope Grows" (2014) arose, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey for David, as well as his parents, Bill and Julie.
Today, David resides with his parents in Louisville, where he devotes his time to a variety of pursuits. An avid reader with exceptional computer skills, he remains busy participating in Special Olympics, joining the Louisville Adaptive Rowing Team, and indulging in a good game of tennis. Music is another passion of his, and he would be delighted to create a personalized mix CD featuring his favorite artists.
When not pursuing his acting career, David stays connected with his loved ones and friends on Facebook, eagerly anticipating his next role.
