Dave Mantel, a talented Dutch actor, was born on September 15th, 1981, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He began his journey in the world of drama at the tender age of 8, when he joined the Amsterdam youth dramaschool, where he continued his education alongside his regular studies.
During his time at the dramaschool, Mantel had the opportunity to play in three productions between the ages of 14 and 18. In addition to his work at the school, he also co-founded his own drama group with friends, which they used to write, produce, and perform their own plays.
After completing his secondary education, Mantel began auditioning for the Dutch Drama Schools at the age of 18. He successfully finished the auditions and was offered a place at either the Drama Academy of Maastricht or the Amsterdam Drama School. He chose to attend the Amsterdam Drama School in 2001, where he honed his skills and graduated four years later, at the age of 23, as an actor and theater maker.
Following his graduation, Mantel went on to play a wide range of roles in stage shows across the Netherlands and Belgium, including classical Shakespeare productions and more modern plays. He also gained experience in television, featuring in numerous commercials and a few TV series.
Mantel's film career began to take off in 2009 and 2010, after which he played many supporting and lead supporting roles in various series and Dutch motion pictures. Some of his notable roles include Dutch Prince Constantijn in the film "Majesty" by Peter De Baan, and roles in the films "Sonny Boy" and "De Groeten van Mike!" by Maria Peters.
In addition to his work in film and television, Mantel has also worked as a photographer, specializing in fashion, editorial, and street photography, as well as serving as a director of photography and filmmaker.
Mantel's breakthrough role came in 2013, when he played the part of trivializing teacher Tino in the multiple award-winning film "Spijt!" by Dave Schram. He also gained widespread recognition for his role as Police Detective Menno Kuiper in the popular Dutch daily TV show "GTST".
