Person Biography:
Darsheel Safary was born on March 9, 1997, in Mumbai, India. He is an Indian child movie actor who has primarily worked in Hindi Bollywood films. Safary is best known for his acclaimed portrayal of a dyslexic child in the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, a drama film about a teacher and a boy with learning disabilities who share a special bond.
Growing up in Mumbai, Safary enrolled in Shiamak Davar's dance academy and had never expected to be a movie actor at such a young age. His parents wanted him to be a businessman executive or a jewelry designer. He has a younger sister and resides in his hometown in Mumbai.
Safary's acting career began with his debut in Taare Zameen Par, where he played the film's protagonist Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi. He was discovered by script writer and creative director Amol Gupte during fall 2006. After going through hundreds of auditions, Gupte found Safary at Shiamak Davar's dancing school, "Summer Funk".
Following his first acting debut, Safary returned to the big screen again to impress more fans and win the hearts of more audiences. He has appeared in several films, including Bumm Bumm Bole, Zokkomon, and Midnight's Children.
