Person Biography:
Darny Chau, also known as Darnie, was born on February 19, 1989, in Arlington, Virginia. Her mother is of Cambodian descent, and her father is of Vietnamese and French descent. As an only child, Darny grew up with a unique upbringing.
Darny's early life was marked by her passion for figure skating, where she became a twice Silver Medalist in the United States' Figure Skating Association's local competitions in Fairfax and Loudoun, Virginia. Her training in ballet led her to dance at renowned institutions such as Alvin Ailey in New York City, New York City Ballet, and the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, District of Columbia.
At the age of 13, Darny signed her first modeling contract, and she has since worked in the industry. Her competitive nature extended to cheerleading, where she was a lead flyer in college and professionally cheered with the National Football League as a Cheerleader Ambassador for the Washington Redskins from 2012 onwards. She earned the Rookie of the Year award.
Darny's academic achievements are impressive, as she graduated from Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, Florida, with a degree in Criminal Justice, ranking in the top tier of her class. During college, she balanced her studies with cheerleading, modeling, volunteering, and interning as a Probation Officer. She even landed the lead role as Princess Hermia in a live theatrical production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Nights Dream.
Darny's post-graduation plans involved working in Washington, D.C. at a law firm, while also cheerleading with the N.F.L. However, she declined law school offers to pursue a career in Washington, D.C. Upon completing her undergraduate degree in just two and a half years, she obtained her online Master's Degree in Business Administration, with a Health Services concentration.
In 2018, Darny relocated to the island of Oahu, Hawaii, where she works as a Security Officer and Paralegal. She signed with Premier Models and Talent, who suggested she explore opportunities in the entertainment industry. Darny made her on-screen debut in Magnum, P.I. (2018) and has since been cast as a featured background in various television shows. She will also appear as a Business Pedestrian in a major motion film set to be released in 2020.
