Danis Goulet is an accomplished writer and director, whose cinematic endeavors have garnered international recognition by being showcased at prestigious film festivals such as Sundance, the Berlin International Film Festival, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
Prior to her current endeavors, Goulet served as a programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival and as the director of the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival. In 2018, she was inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and in 2021, she joined the Board of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Goulet's debut feature film, Night Raiders, made its world premiere in the Panorama section of the 2021 Berlinale and was subsequently selected as a Gala Presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival 2021, where she received a TIFF Tribute Award. Her outstanding work was further recognized with the Directors Guild of Canada's Discovery Award in 2021, and the film itself won the Grand Prix at the Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal.
In addition to her feature film work, Goulet has also completed production on a Netflix thriller in 2021. Born and raised in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, Goulet identifies as Cree/Metis.
