Person Biography:
Daniella Dela Peña is a talented Filipina-Canadian actress, singer, and creator based in Toronto. Born to Zosimo (Bay) and Elisa Dela Peña, who immigrated to Canada from the Philippines in the late 1990s, Daniella is a first-generation immigrant who has been shaped by her Filipino culture. Her parents, who are a year apart but share the same birthday, have been a constant source of support and inspiration for her.
Daniella's love for performing began at a young age, thanks to her parents' encouragement. She received training in ballet, piano, and conservatory singing, which nurtured her passion for the arts. As she grew older, she became determined to showcase her talents through various forms of entertainment.
Daniella's educational background is impressive, having graduated from the joint Theatre and Drama Studies Program at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College. During her time at university, she had the opportunity to work on several productions, including The Oresteia, The Places We Are, Hello Girls, and The Roaring Girl. She has also been involved in the creation of new plays with The Disconnect(ed) Collective and has written a new play alongside Carlos Bulosan Theatre.
In addition to her theatrical endeavors, Daniella has also ventured into film, voicing Jinx in the world premiere of David Yee's play, The cecil hotel, and appearing in Hallmark's Two For The Win. Her drive to succeed is evident, as she continues to take on new challenges and make discoveries about herself and the industry.
Daniella's family has played a significant role in her life, including her older sister, Diana Kate Dela Peña, a retired gymnast and two-time Eastern Canadian Champion. Daniella is grateful for the love and support of her family, who have inspired her every day.
