Daniel Lind Lagerlöf, a Swedish director, screenwriter, and producer, began his television career as an assistant before directing his first film, Föreställningen (The Performance),in 1990. He then worked on the highly successful drama series Skjärgårdsdoktoren, which aired in Sweden and Norway from 1997 to 2000.
After Skjärgårdsdoktoren ended, Lagerlöf directed several Beck-films before returning to television. His last completed project was the three-part mini-series Bibliotekstjuven (the Library Thief),written by his wife Marie Lagerlöf.
However, Lagerlöf's disappearance on October 6, 2011, has left his fate uncertain. He was last seen with two other members of his crew while doing research for an upcoming movie and taking photos near Tanumshede on the Swedish west coast. Despite an extensive search involving police, sea rescue services, and military personnel, Lagerlöf was never found and is believed to have fallen into the sea and perished.
