Biography

Daniel Emery Taylor's passion for performing was sparked when he landed the role of the Father in his elementary school's stage production of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey in the world of entertainment.

As fate would have it, a local talent scout discovered him and contacted his mother, leading to an audition for the classic made-for-TV film "A Father's Homecoming" in 1988. Although he didn't secure the part, he did manage to book his second audition, landing the role of Darryl in the campy 80's schlock classic The Return of Swamp Thing in 1989.

This early success set the stage for a prolific career, with more roles following in rapid succession. However, Daniel eventually found his true calling in the world of independent horror, co-writing and co-directing the brutal offerings The Hospital in 2013 and Camp Massacre in 2014.

Despite his success, Daniel became increasingly dissatisfied with the quality and artistic direction of these projects, leading him to take matters into his own hands. He founded Debtor Entertainment, a production company that prioritizes both entertainment value and artistic merit.

Daniel's solo directorial debut, It's Just a Game, premiered at festivals in 2019 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, cementing his status as a rising talent in the world of independent horror.
