Dan Lin is the Chief Executive Officer and Head Wrangler of Rideback, a renowned film and television production company that has produced numerous tentpole live-action and animated projects for global audiences. This innovative company is headquartered within Rideback Ranch, a creative campus located in LA's Historic Filipinotown district that also houses other prominent industry leaders such as Warner Animation Group, David Ayer's Cedar Park Entertainment, Animal Logic, and Margot Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment.
Since the establishment of Rideback in 2008, Lin has successfully produced films that have collectively grossed over $4 billion at the worldwide box office. His most recent credits include Disney's $1 billion blockbuster "Aladdin," Stephen King's "It: The Second Chapter," and the critically acclaimed Netflix awards contender "The Two Popes."
Lin's extensive filmography also includes the LEGO movie franchise films "The LEGO Movie," "The LEGO Batman Movie," "The LEGO Ninjago Movie," and "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part," as well as Stephen King's "It" and Netflix's "Death Note." He has also produced the hit mystery thrillers "Sherlock Holmes" and "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," which starred Robert Downey Jr., and executive produced Fox's TV series "Lethal Weapon," based on the film franchise.
Prior to founding Lin Pictures, Lin served as Senior Vice President of Production for Warner Bros. Pictures from 1999 to 2007, where he oversaw the development and production of notable films such as Martin Scorsese's Academy Award-winning drama "The Departed."
Lin is also committed to giving back to his community and serves on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations, including the Evolve Entertainment Fund, the Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children, and the I Dream of Fish Foundation. In June 2015, he was honored with an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Lin holds a Bachelor's degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, which he earned in 1994, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School, which he received in 1999.
