Damon Evans, a multifaceted performer, is widely recognized for his portrayal of "Lionel Jefferson" on the iconic sitcom The Jeffersons, which aired from 1975 to 1985.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Evans' artistic journey began at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where he graduated with a scholarship from Reader's Digest.
After completing his studies, Evans attended the Boston Conservatory of Music, where he honed his craft and appeared in various productions, including "Two If by Sea", "Hair", and "The Corner" at the Theatre Company of Boston.
Evans' impressive off-Broadway credits include performances in "A Day in the Life of Just About Everyone", "Bury the Dead" for the Urban Arts Corp, and "Love Me, Love My Children".
He made his Broadway debut in "The Me Nobody Knows" and went on to appear in "Via Galactica" and "Lost in the Stars", where he portrayed the character of 'Matthew'.
Evans also toured as 'Judas' and 'Jesus Christ' in the authorized concert version of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar", and he appeared in the Tony, Obie, and Drama Desk Award-winning Broadway musical "Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope", written by the talented Micki Grant.
Although his film and television career may have slowed down, Evans continues to captivate audiences across the country with his diverse range of theatrical and musical performances.
