Sommerlad's professional journey began at the tender age of 13, when he took to the stage as The Artful Dodger in Lionel Bart's iconic production of Oliver. This early exposure to the world of theater was followed by a role in Benjamin Britten's Billy Budd.
In 2003, Sommerlad earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Screen Production from Griffith University. He then honed his craft in film and theater in Sydney, Australia, before being awarded a scholarship in 2006 to pursue a Master's degree in Dramatic Art at London's esteemed East 15 Acting School.
Following his studies, Sommerlad spent several years working on stage in London and the West End. However, his career took a dramatic turn when he was cast in 'Battle Ground', prompting his return to Australia. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to thrive in the entertainment industry.
