D-12, a renowned rap group, was formed in the late 1990s by Eminem and five close friends, who had been touring together for years, but unfortunately, had not yet secured a record deal. Faced with the prospect of going their separate ways, the group members, including Eminem, made a pact that the first one to achieve success would return to the group.
However, no one expected Eminem, the group's founder, to be the first to achieve widespread recognition. This unexpected turn of events was a shock to the entire group.
The group's debut album, "Devil's Night," was recorded and released, taking its name from the infamous Detroit holiday that takes place on the night before Halloween. This holiday, which originated in the mid-1980s, has become a tradition in Detroit, where people revel in the freedom to wreak havoc on the city.
Interestingly, the group's original name was "The Dirty Dozen," inspired by their desire to create a western song and portray themselves as outlaws. However, they were unable to use this name due to its already being claimed by a jazz group, so they shortened it to D-12.
The group consisted of Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III),Peter S. Bizarre (Rufus Johnson),Swift (Ondre Moore),Proof (Deshaun Holton),Kuniva (Von Carlisle),and Kon Artis (Denaun Porter).
