Cynthia Wood, a captivating blonde with a radiant presence, entered the world on September 25, 1950, in the sunny city of Burbank, California. Born to a father, Harold, who held a position as a recording executive, and a mother, Erma, who was an actress, Cynthia's creative inclinations were nurtured from a young age.
Cynthia's academic pursuits initially led her to attend both Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Valley College, where she majored in music. However, her interests soon shifted towards theater, and she eventually dropped out of college altogether in 1971.
In 1973, Cynthia's beauty and charm earned her the coveted title of Playboy's Playmate of the Month, and in 1974, she was named Playmate of the Year. A decade later, she made a triumphant return to the pages of Playboy with a follow-up pictorial in the April 1984 issue.
Cynthia's foray into the world of film began with a small role as a beauty shop customer in the 1975 comedy "Shampoo." Her performance as Moon, a sassy and spirited character, in the drive-in comedy romp "Van Nuys Blvd." left a lasting impression on audiences.
In addition to her film work, Cynthia made memorable appearances as a Playboy Playmate in the 1979 epic war film "Apocalypse Now." Her role was significantly expanded in the 2001 "Redux" version of the movie. Furthermore, she appeared as herself on episodes of the popular TV programs "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" and "The Jim Stafford Show."
In her post-entertainment career, Cynthia has worked as a casting agent for director Michael Lesner and has earned a Ph.D. in psychology.
